Church Family Update 9.19.2013

Youth Ignite & Servefest

Sept. 27 - 28

Ignite returns to Johnson University Florida!  Ignite is a great worship event with other youth groups from around central Florida.  It will be a time of dynamic worship, a great message from God’s word, and fun fellowship!  We will leave the church at 6:30 pm. The cost is $5 and students are encouraged to bring a friend.  After spending Friday night at church, we will serve our community and help clean up downtown Kissimmee on Saturday.  We will return by 2:30 pm.  Please bring money for lunch on Saturday.  Contact Chris Wells for more information. 

Elementary Lock-in “GLOW”

It’s a GLOW in the DARK Lock-in!  Friday, Oct. 4 – Saturday, Oct. 5.  Get ready for glow in the dark games, crafts, snacks & glow in the dark worship!

Registration deadline, for kids 1^st – 5^th grade, is  Wednesday, Oct. 2. Cost is $5.  See the display outside the Children’s Worship room for forms and more information. 

Women’s Ministry – “Munch & Mingle”

All women are invited to a "Munch & Mingle" on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7pm at the church. Please bring a snack to share and a fun photo of yourself (a photo of you that has a story to share!). Come spend some time getting to know each other in a relaxed time of fellowship as well as learn about upcoming events. Sign up at the Women's Ministry display in the café area.

 

 

Reminder: Items for Soldiers’ boxes

We're getting ready to pack our soldier boxes and need your help. Our supplies are low and many items are needed. Please drop by the F.O.G. (Feet on the Ground) display and pick up a shopping list. While there, take some time to read another note from some of our appreciative soldiers. Thank you again for your support of this ministry.

Men's Ministry Begins!

 

Our “Men of Issachar” Mens Ministry kicks -off with a breakfast this Saturday, Sept. 14, at 8:00 am, here at the church.  Jim Book will be speaking.  Come join us for this special time of prayer, encouragement and fellowship. 

 

Attention Singles

This Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6:00 pm, Jim & Jeanette Book are hosting a get together for all of our singles (ages 24-59).  It’s a pitch-in supper, so bring your favorite dish.  Please see Vicki Piper or the Books if you have any questions. The Book’s address: 2921 Benton Lane, Kissimmee, 34746.

Young At Heart Lunch

All Young at Heart (ages 55 and over) please join us for a Potluck lunch on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 11:00 am, here at the church.  Please sign up in the Café area and let us know what dish you can bring.

Church Family Update 9.5.2013



The College Ministry resumes this Sunday,

Sept. 8.  Meet in room 142 at 6:00 pm



MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

All mothers of preschoolers (birth to kindergarten) are invited to the first MOPS meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12, 9:30 – 11:30 am, at the church.  MOPS meets the second Thursday of each month during the school year.  There is no charge for the meetings.

 

 

Widows Ministry Outing

The Widow’s Ministry invites all single ladies who are 60 and over to join them for a brunch at The Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant and a one hour boat cruise on the St. Johns River on Saturday, Sept. 14.  Meet at the church by 8:30am.  The cost will be $20-$25, which includes brunch and the boat cruise.  Please sign up in the café no later than this Sunday, Sept. 8.  If you have any questions, contact Norma Lindeman at 407-846-3263.
