“TRANSFORM” Through Prayers

Your prayers are needed to TRANSFORM our church! Please pray for TRANSFORM daily and participate in our two-day prayer vigil, March 6 – 7.  From 7:00 am until 7:00 pm each day of the vigil, we will be wrapping TRANSFORM in prayer. Stroke Survivors Meeting

A new small group/ministry has been created for Stroke Survivors and their spouses.  The group meets the first Sunday of each month at 4:00 pm in room 217.  If you would like to be a part of this support group, simply come, no sign up needed. The next meeting will be Sunday, March 1.  Please call the church office for more information.

Ladies Circle of Faith

Circle of Faith is meeting Tuesday, March 3, at Nancy Willingham’s home at 7:00 pm.  Carpoolers meet at the church at 6:30 pm.  RSVP to Nancy (407-892-3376) if you will be coming.  Please bring peanut butter, jelly, soup or crackers for the young men at Grace Landing.  

                                                                                                    

Young at Heart Day at Lake Aurora

It’s time for the annual Young at Heart Day at Lake Aurora Christian Camp on Thursday, March 12.  The day includes an antique car show, tram ride or pontoon boat ride, corn-hole toss, hymns, speakers and a luncheon.  We will leave the church at 8:45 am and return at 3:00 pm.  The cost is $15.  Please sign up at the Ministry Center! 

Antiquities

Have you heard about Antiquities? Antiquities is our M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Preschoolers) unique portrait fundraiser which will be held here at the church on March 13 & 14. With the purchase of a coupon, children 16 and under will receive a professional photo session with old-fashioned clothing and props and will receive a 10x13 portrait in antique color.  Money is due by Monday, March 9, at 9:00 am.  Photo sessions only take about 10-15 minutes. This annual fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity to support MOPS and to help fund the MOPS program for the entire 2015-16 school year. For more information contact Diane Lytle, 407-301-2573.

Because of your great generosity we were able to send out our boxes over the past three months.  God is good!!  Once again we are asking that you help us fill our empty shelves with the following items:  coffee, box of tea bags, hot chocolate packs, beef jerky, white canned chicken or tuna, canned meatballs and spaghetti, canned soup, chocolate candy, hard candy, gum, honey in a plastic container, snacks or cereal bars, baby wipes, white socks and monetary donations for shipping and purchasing needed items. Young at Heart

Our Young at Heart (ages 55+) are invited to a day of art, shopping & lunch on Thursday, Feb. 19.  We will leave the church at 9:30 am to head to the Morse Museum in Winter Park.  We will return at 2:00 pm.  Bring $4 for the museum and money for shopping and lunch.  Please sign up at the Ministry Center if you plan on attending.

Once again we will be sending out our monthly soldier boxes on Friday, Feb. 20.  We are in need of the following items: Beef jerky, hot chocolate packets, coffee, baby wipes, chocolate candy, nuts and gum.  Your continued support of this ministry truly blesses soldiers who are serving in the Middle East.  Thank you and please continue to pray for all of our soldiers serving our great country.

There will be a 5-10 minute meeting for ushers and greeters this Sunday, Feb. 15, after the 9:30 am service, in room 140 (Choir).

Anyone interested in becoming a part of the Relay for Life team, please join us this Sunday, Feb. 15, after the 11:00 am worship service for a brief meeting in room 142 (Six8).

Houston Astros Spring Training

On Saturday, Mar. 7, 1:05 pm, the Houston Astros will be playing the New York Yankees at the Osceola County Stadium (631 Heritage Park Way, Kissimmee, 34744).  The cost of $22 is due by Feb. 15.  This event is hosted by the Singles Ministry.  Please contact Vicki Piper, vpiper@cfl.rr.com, for payment or more information.

Next Step Class & Lunch

Our “Next Step” class is for those interested in knowing more about First Christian Church.  The class will be led by John Shelley on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 pm in room 142 (Six8).  Lunch and childcare will be provided.  Please email the church office or sign up at the Ministry Center to let us know if you are interested in attending this class.

Singles Ministry

We will be taking a trip to the Amway Arena to watch the New Orleans Pelicans take on our own Orlando Magic.  Game is Friday, February 20, at 7:00 pm.  The church bus will be leaving at 6:00 pm.  Tickets are $15 (make payable to First Christian Church).  See Jim Book for more details.  We have a block of 15 tickets reserved - first come first served!
