MidWeek Informer


VBS Work Days
Thanks to all who came out and gave of their time to help with VBS sets and decorations. We appreciate it very much! The next workday is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 26th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come on out to the church and help us prepare for this summer's spectacular VBS program “Cosmic City”. We will have more workdays in July. Be on the lookout for those dates!
     
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Summer is here and we need your support for our Children’s Ministry. Volunteer today! We need teachers and helpers in all areas from nursery to elementary. If you are able and interested please contact Jennifer Mehlenbacher at jenn.mehlenbacher@fcckissimmee.org.

Membership Class Invitation
Interested in becoming a member of First Christian Church of Kissimmee? Jim Book will be hosting a one night membership class on Wednesday, July 1 at 6:30 pm. All Church Family Picnic
 Everyone is invited to our “All Church Picnic” at Johnson University Florida in the Student Union Building, Wednesday, July 8, 5:30 pm. The pool will be available along with the sand-volleyball court. So bring your lawn chairs and towels and join us for a great time of fun and fellowship. Sandwiches, chips & drinks will be provided by Chick-fil-A! Please bring a dessert to share. Sign up if you plan to attend. Donations will be accepted.

Summer Camp at Lake Aurora
Each summer we send our middle and elementary school students to camp at Lake Aurora. It is an amazing week of worship, outdoor activities, and tons of fun! You can sign up at lakeaurora.org. See Bob Mehlenbacher or Jennifer Holderby with questions. Middle school students (July 5-10), Grades 2, 3 & 4 (July 12-14), Grades 3, 4 & 5 (July 12-16).

TAKIN’ IT TO THE STREETS!!
As we get closer to Vacation Bible School we want to encourage all of our members to adopt your street in your neighborhood and make sure all of your neighbors with VBS age children get an invitation card. This will afford each of us an opportunity to personally invite our friends and neighbors to this great outreach event. Invitation cards are located on church counters in the foyer.

VBS July 20-24
Get ready to blast off to Cosmic City! It’s a fun week of music, cosmic crafts, galactic games, Bible, science and much more. Kids will learn about a great big God that is out of this world! $10 per kid for the whole week! Register at fcckissimmee.org/children/vbs. We need lots of volunteers for this space mission. Sign up to boldly minister to kids! Visit the VBS table today!

VBS Donation Slips
Donation Slips are now available at the VBS table. We will need all donations by Sunday, July 12th. We appreciate all your help in making this a very successful VBS. 

Stroke Survivor Support Group
The stroke survivor support group meetings are designed to offer support to stroke survivors and family caregivers. The support group meets every first Sunday of the month. The next meeting will be held at the church on July 5th at 4:00 pm.

Apply at youthinministry.org. Cost is $150 for first timers and $400 for second timers. A church bus will take all the students.

Life in the Son Ministries
Life in the Son Ministries is working towards collecting some much needed men’s clothing. Jan Demond will be accepting donations in the Café area on Sunday, June 21.  For more information please contact Jan at 407-933-0300.

Wild Wets Days June 17- July 15
It’s time to sign up for Wild Wets days! Grades K-5 join us for five fun Wednesdays this summer and get an introduction to one day mission trips. Cost is $22 for all five Wednesdays. Visit the children’s ministry table in the Café or go online to sign up, fcckissimmee.org/children/events. 

Men’s Breakfast
The next Men’s Breakfast is Saturday, June 13, 8:00 am at the church. Come and enjoy a great breakfast and an opportunity to pray, encourage and fellowship as men who value the role of being a godly man in an often times spiritually depleted culture.  If you plan on attending please contact church office at 407-847-2543 or email staff@fcckissimmee.org.

Connect Singles Ministry
On Saturday, June 20, we will meet for our monthly event at the AMF Kissimmee Lanes for bowling. We will meet at 4140 W. Vine St. at 5:30 pm. The cost is $20 per person, which includes 2 hrs. of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and soda. If you plan on attending, sign up in the Café area by Sunday, June 14. We look forward to a fun time together.

We need 40 crew leaders willing to lead a “mission team” throughout the morning. We also need “captains” that are ready to bring our cosmic crafts, galactic games, science lab, and our deep space bible zone to life. To accept this mission visit the Cosmic City display in the cafe today!


 Sunday Evening Series
Come out and join the church family this Sunday at 5:30 pm as we continue the sermon series entitled “The Practice of Godliness". This week’s sermon is entitled “What Pleases God” and will be delivered by Mark Durbin. We hope you will make plans to attend our evening service and invite a friend to attend.

Graduate Sunday - June 7th
On Sunday, June 7th we will be honoring and congratulating our graduates of both High School and College for 2015.  If you are a graduate (or parent of a graduate) please visit the ministry center and fill out the graduate information sheet.  You can either put it in the drop box or give it to Chris Wells by Thursday, June 4.  You may also send digital Pictures to Chris for our video to be shown that day.  You can send the picture to chris.wells@fcckissimmee.org.  Contact Chris with any questions.

 Rock Student Ministry
Next Sunday, June 7, will be our last Rock Student Ministry meeting until the fall.

 Sunday Evening Series
Missing Wednesday evening electives? Come out and join the church family on Sundays at 5:30 pm for our evening worship services. Jim is doing a sermon series entitled “The Practice of Godliness".  I hope you will make plans to attend our evening service and invite a friend to attend.

MATRIX Middle School Mission Trip June 9-12
Our Middle School Mission Trip has been a huge success!  Current 6th -8th grade students can join us as we serve our city!  Students will serve for three days and one fun day!  (Well it’s all fun!)  Students will stay at the church each night.  This is a perfect way to learn about missions.  The last day for your middle-schooler to sign up is Sunday, June 7.  Please pray for our students as they serve.

New Wednesday Morning Summer Elective
Mack Allen will lead a Wednesday morning Bible study entitled ”The Parallel life of Elisha and John the Baptist”  beginning June 10, at 10:00 am.
