The Midweek Informer 5.28.15

This Sunday morning we begin a new series entitled “Hero’s”. There is a distinct difference between a hero and a celebrity. Our society seems to be fascinated and driven by individuals who possess power or physical beauty and or large sums of wealth. These individuals seem to have become the icons of our culture. Yet through both biblical history and even the developing years of this great republic we see how God used men and women of little means but large doses of character and commitment. We are convinced that is what separates the celebrity from the hero. We hope you will join us over the next few weeks as we explore the scriptures and see how some very unlikely people turned out to do some pretty incredible things. Oh, and don’t think that God can’t use you to be a hero to someone.

What is a Habit?
Habits tend to be unhealthy patterns that often start as a perceived “remedy” for some problem in your life, but end up turning into a chronic bad behavior or addiction.  Habits are the repeat, default scripts you run to when the going gets tough.  They are your grooved plays that continually lead to trouble in your life.

Some common habits include: Abusive behavior, alcohol, bitterness, eating disorders, gambling, gossip, lying, self-mutilation, sex addictions, spending problems, workaholism, drugs, and smoking.

Celebrate Recovery is a recovery ministry that applies the 8 Biblical Recovery Principles (based on the Beatitudes) with a goal to let God work through us in providing His healing power. This allows people to be “changed” spiritually by working through sound biblical principles.  Celebrate Recovery is a ministry that applies the 8 Biblical recovery principles (based on the Beatitudes) with a goal to let God work through us in providing His healing power.
We meet every Friday at First Christian Church of Kissimmee, 6:30 pm, second floor, rooms 206-208.
